Here is an assortment of interesting Pipe paraphernalia. It may be hard to find a dedicated pipe smoker these days, but most of the interesting pieces in these pictures belonged to Captain George Elliott, my husbands father. George Elliott was a captain of a ship which carried oil during the second world war for Imperial Oil. Just as the movies and photos perceive the hardy Captain standing on deck with his pipe in hand. Of course I am always asked why I keep all this clutter and I answer that the old saying everything has a memory and a tale to tell. I suspect that as the years go down the road the the memories and tales become fainter they will forget the owners and their stories it will be the final demise.
I wonder do they allow smoking on Naval Ships to-day????
