A rare vintage Trifari equestrian brooch is now part of the costume jewellery range on Vintage Seekers. With its pearl belly, the signed black enamel horse brooch, designed by Alfred Phillipe in the 1960s, is a striking example of original costume jewellery.
The brooch in Vintage Seekers’ collection is part of the 'Jelly Bellies' line Alfred Phillipe, who was formerly jewellery designer for Cartier, created for Trifari. These vintage ‘jelly bellies’ jewellery pieces feature a Lucite faux pearl stone set on an enamel design.
Trifari is one of the best known of all costume jewellery manufacturers. Vintage Seekers, the luxury site for 20th century design and collectibles, also lists a signed enamel and metal crown brooch from the 1960s in its costume jewellery section.
