This is a photo of me and my mother in 1942, standing in front of Niagara Street School on the corner of Niagara and Adelaide Street in Toronto. My mother eventually tires to register me at that school since she felt the school being directly across the road from our home it would be a safe journey to and from school. All my family were Chatholics and paid seperate school taxes so therefore they would not allow me to attend a Public School which Naiagara Street school was. Therefore when the time came for me to go to school I went up Adelaide towards Bathurst Street were I attended St.Mary's Catholic School. The school had the girls on one side and the boys on the other even in the playgrouns at recess and for the longest time I thought that was why they called it a seperate school. We were taught by nuns the Sister's of St. Joseph. I think my mother was gorgeous and always smartly dressed dispite the low income we had.

How long have you been collecting???
Posted on 10:34 AM by fdgdfg
I read many articles from my fellow vintage clothing collectors that claim they have been collecting for years, would you say 10 years or maybe 20 years well how about over 50 years. Here is a picture of my mother my sister and me with our mother taken in 1948. The dress our mother is wearing remains in my collection. Growing up in downtown Toronto as a teenager in the early 1950's my mother never insisted or forced me to give away or throw away any items that I liked, so some of those special garments remain with me to-day. I went on to continue to add to my collection and in the 1970 I participated in the Old Clothing Show and Sale at Exhibition Place Toronto and had a flea market in the 1980. Now at 72 years old I still keep acquiring items that people give to me so their treasured keepsakes go to a good home.
On my retirement 1n 2000 I started to share my collection and do CHARITY VINTAGE FASHION SHOWS, this is were many of these garments are given to me. I am always asked two questions When will I stop, and what will happen eventually to all this stuff and I never give a definite answer.

What's New at Noble Savage Vintage
Posted on 1:56 PM by fdgdfg
Things have been a bit crazy lately at Noble Savage Vintage, but I have finally made time to share a little bit of what's new to the shop. Today's selection can all be found at Noble Savage Vintage on Ruby Lane. I hope you enjoy.
Early 1920's heavily beaded chiffon evening gown. Just perfect for you decadent Boardwalk Empire themed parties.
One of my personal favorites, this striking green crinkle silk dress also dates to the early 1920's and it's condition is incredible.
This early 1920's dress is in an slinky velvet with fabulous pleating to the skirt from Franklin Simon and Co. .
Fun and flirty flounced satin dress from the mid 1920's.
I have also added a few new day dresses including this Princess Peggy house dress from the 1930's.
As well as this New Old Stock Princess Peggy house dress from the 1940's. Pomeroy's price tag is still attached.
